Christine White
Clinical Psychologist
BA (Science) BA Hons (Social Science) MPsych (Clinical)
I am an experienced and caring Clinical Psychologist who has worked in a variety of public and private hospital settings in Brisbane and Toowoomba before commencing private practice over twenty years ago.
I have a friendly and collaborative style where I believe it is a privilege to support people during difficult periods in their lives. I strive to create a safe and supportive therapeutic environment, where together, we seek to reduce your psychological distress and promote a fulfilling and purposeful life. In session, I incorporate evidence-based techniques, psychological strategies and supportive exploration. We will work together to create a treatment approach that meets your individual needs.
Primarily I work with adults experiencing a range of challenges including but not limited to anxiety, OCD, depression, grief and loss; relationship difficulties; low self esteem; eating disorders; workplace issues; acute and chronic health conditions; pregnancy and infertility.
I am particularly interested in the importance of the mother-baby attachment and offer expertise in supporting mothers and families during their pregnancy experience and pathway. I have worked as an inpatient Clinical Psychologist at the Mater Mother's Hospital (Brisbane) providing support to women in the antenatal period as well as working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I have specialist training and ongoing professional development in this area and provide psychological care to perinatal clients and work collaboratively with Obstetricians, GP's and Midwives.
